World's biggest energy storage battery switched on in Australia
The largest energy storage battery in the world has been switched on along the New South Wales Central Coast, north of Sydney.
The Waratah Super Battery, can deliver 850 megawatts of power, to support the state's network during times of major demand.
Akaysha Energy built the battery and its CEO Nick Carter has told ABC NewsRadio's Sarah Morice it would act as a shock absorber for the power network
